Campaign Overview

The Agent 64: Spies Never Die campaign on Steam (App ID 1574480, released August 11, 2026) sends Secret Agent John Walter across 14 story missions to dismantle Dominic Pulp’s global conspiracy. Each mission is a self-contained operation with unique locales, objective mixes, and combat set pieces inspired by GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark. This overview maps the full campaign without spoiling every twist, links to arc walkthroughs, and explains how Agent, Special Agent, and 64 Agent reshape the same maps.

Story premise

John Walter is an elite operative in a pulpy spy thriller. Dominic Pulp — arch-nemesis, melodramatic villain, serious threat — pursues plans that escalate from corporate theft to launch-site catastrophe. You intercept intel in urban towers and nightclubs, descend into museums and catacombs, strike military installations, and finally breach Pulp’s underwater pens, luxury fronts, underground labs, and missile silos. The tone balances sincere retro homage with winking villain monologues.

Arc summaries

Early arc (missions 1–4)

Urban and cultural infiltration teaches core systems. Skyscraper introduces hacking, safe rooms, and classified plan theft. Nightclub adds crowded civilian spaces where reckless fire fails Special Agent hostage goals. Museum layers patrol routes and optional gallery wings. Catacombs shifts to tight underground navigation and explosive puzzles. Details: Early Missions.

Mid arc (missions 5–9)

Geography widens to outdoor and industrial theaters. Snow Base tests long sightlines and cold-open combat. Harbor adds verticality, cranes, and crate destruction with remote mines on 64 Agent. Train compresses fights into corridor timing puzzles. Jungle emphasizes navigation and flanking routes. Desert combines open dunes with compound infiltrations. Details: Mid Missions.

Finale arc (missions 10–14)

Pulp’s infrastructure exposed. Submarine Pen underwater docks and tight choke points. Luxury Liner multi-deck civilian risk. Underground Lab high-tech locks and scientist-adjacent objectives. Launch Silo pre-climax systems pressure. Final Confrontation resolves the Walter vs Pulp rivalry at the heart of the plot. Details: Finale Missions.

Difficulty across the campaign

Every mission supports three tiers explained in Difficulty Modes:

  • Agent — baseline objectives.
  • Special Agent — extra rescues, intel, and areas.
  • 64 Agent — maximum tasks, timers, and routes.

Example pattern from early missions: on Skyscraper, Agent might require hacking the central server and stealing launch plans; Special Agent adds hostage rescues in the executive boardroom; 64 Agent may require tracker plants on rooftop satellite dishes plus a timed helicopter-pad escape. Similar escalations repeat mid and late campaign — consult arc pages rather than assuming uniform difficulty spikes.

Co-op campaign structure

All 14 missions playable solo, local split-screen (2P), or online co-op (up to 4P) share one objective chain. Partners split hacks, rescues, and flanks — especially valuable on Harbor, Train, and Underground Lab. Review Getting Started co-op section before hosting 64 Agent sessions.

Par times, trials, and Paradox Mode

Speedrunners and completionists chase par times and trials to unlock Paradox Mode70+ cheats and modifiers (big heads, slow-motion bullets, infinite ammo, melee-only, etc.). Paradox does not alter story order; it layers onto replays and multiplayer lobbies. See Paradox Contracts after your first clear.

Loadout planning

Campaign weapon gates and pickups vary by mission. Rather than duplicate stats here, use Weapons Tier List for role recommendations and All Weapons & Gadgets for unlock notes. SMGs excel in Nightclub and Train; rifles control Snow Base sightlines; gadgets spike on Harbor and Submarine Pen.

Multiplayer map knowledge crossover

Several campaign locales reappear or inform PvP layouts in Deathmatch, Briefcase, and Zone with up to 8 players + 8 bots. Learning Jungle flanks or Desert compound entries doubles as multiplayer training.

  1. Clear Agent or Special Agent story sequentially.
  2. Revisit weak missions on higher tier using arc guides.
  3. Hunt par times for Paradox unlocks.
  4. Experiment with modifiers on favorite missions via Paradox Contracts.

Before you start

New agents should read Getting Started and Controls & Settings. Pick difficulty honestly — the campaign rewards exploration and objective discipline over sprinting. Dominic Pulp waits at the end of fourteen operations; this overview ensures you always know which wiki page matches your next waypoint.
